COVID-19 Information

With the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Capital Pathology recognises that we have an important role to play in supporting our clinicians and their patients with up-to-date information about coronavirus and respiratory virus testing.

The information here is designed to keep you informed of our current status as it applies to coronavirus testing. As a result of conditions changing so rapidly, our website will be updated regularly with pertinent COVID-19 information and the latest from our practice about collection and testing.   

COVID-19 Testing 

NSW residents can continue to be able to attend our Bega and Goulburn sites to get a COVID-19 test.

COVID-19 Update for ACT residents, from March 1st ACT concession card holders will be eligible to have a COVID-19 test without a referral from their doctor. 

Eligible concession cards include:

• Pensioner concession card
• Commonwealth seniors health care card
• Health care card (including Low-income health care card
• Department of Veterans' affairs gold, white or orange cards
• or ACT Government services access card

All other residents may present a referral from their doctor. Those without a referral will be required to pay an upfront cost.

Residents who have a referral from their doctor but do not have Medicare will be required to pay an upfront cost for testing.

Turnaround Times:

As of September 2023, current turnaround time for results is approximately 24 to 36 hours. 

Results:

Results will be sent via SMS to your nominated mobile phone number. If you are travelling internationally and require a formal certificate of a negative test, please use our Travel Testing page.

Ages:

We can collect for patients of all ages at all of our locations.

When attending our collection facilities:

Please ensure you wear a mask, and follow the directions of staff.

Testing Locations:

Majority of collection centres in the ACT will conduct COVID-19 testing for a list of centres please click here, please call your preferred collection centre prior to arrival.

Please be advised both our Goulburn and Bega COVID-19 collection will be available for COVID-19 testing for NSW residents on Wednesdays from 8am to 12pm

It is preferred you attend our facilities with a referral from your doctor, please ensure if you have symptoms you are wearing a mask.

Bega is located in the car park behind the collection centre. Please call before arrival 6499 0600

Please be advised we do not offer RAT testing at any of our Collection centres.
